We constructed this logo for our final grade. I choose to base the design around a farm stand to emphasize the fact that Berkley is very rural. The title is white on top of a dark background so it pops out and people can read it easier. I put the main attractions in large readable print so everyone can easily tell what the event is for. The rolling hills are in the back to represent the farm feeling of Berkley. I made sure to include the location at the top for people to see easily. I then brought the image into photoshop where I downloaded fireworks paintbrushes and added them to the image for extra color, to fill in the missing spaces, and to highlight the excitement of the event. It was also important to include "bring the kids" so that way parents know they can attend this event with their children, only bringing in a larger crowd.
I will miss you very much, thanks for everything! I will send pictures from FL to make you jealous!

Cat Vector
In this project we created a vector image. We pulled an image from our phones, brought it into illustrator, and built shapes on top of it to add shadows and highlighting. I used a picture of my kitten Kay.

foodtruck logo
This is the logo i created where i pulled out one of the waves from the mosaic design along the bottom of the food truck. the client also requested no script and locally caught and always organic labelled somewhere on the logo. the wave turns into the C for "Cape Escape", the title of the truck.
Food Truck Menu
In this project we had to create a logo and a menu for a food truck. We simulated the actual work force by having Mrs. Strode come in as a client and judge our work. The waves on the bottom would border the entire food truck and the light colors are chosen because the client requested a more vintage feel to the design.

Zachary's Menu
In this project we were given a dull design of a breakfast menu and needed to alter it in a way that drew more attention and appeared to have better symmetry. The logo was small so I expanded it over the entire page and turned its opacity down so the menu items overlapping it could be read more easily. I created a circle and typed on a curve to create the menu heading. Rulers helped me make sure everything was in alignment.

EG Logo Design
this is my finished logo with an added design. this spoke to me because at first i wanted to do a ying and yang theme because of the contrast i encompassed with the water and earth theme. When i started to build the design behind the logo and started thinking about ying and yang, black and white, I did what i have a habit of doing, i added a twist. I came to the conclusion that ying and yang disregards the "gray areas". a lot of people disregard the gray areas in life. things aren't always one way or another, and there is always a way to bend something or see it differently. that's what i want my logo to stand for, not just the differences around us, but the space in between that isn't so different. the gray area that blends together all of our hard and fast rules. that's what connects humans, our "what ifs" and "maybes" and "don't knows". As much as we like to pretend, everyone isn't sure sometimes, and that's what makes us humans, and should be what keeps us together.
Logo Black and White
When creating a logo it is important that it is simple and clear enough that it can be transferred to black and white, while still being readable and send its message. This is my logo turned black and white. I then adjusted the two letters grey scale to add contrast.

Initial Logo
For this project we sketched 50 different sketches of our choice with our initials built into a logo. I combined the water and leaf fonts I had found to create a water and earth themed logo. If it were used for an actual company id assume that they would be geared towards environmental protection.

Type Hierarchy
In typing hierarchy it is important to have three levels of type. The first level of your type should be the largest. This is the level that is going to grab the readers attention. This will also be the most important text in your design. Level two is meant to organize your design. This level will guide the readers eye deeper into the topic or what he or she is looking to find in the article. This text is generally smaller than Level one and stands out less. Level three is where you get into the details of what the design is all about. This is where one would usually find the copy-write material but also where you would find a detailed description of the product or idea. This text should be the smallest in size. It is important also that this level is in a font that is easy to read since it will be small. All of these levels are important in a design because they introduce the idea to the viewer in an organized fashion.

Brain Advertisement
This is the advertisement i created with the digital illustration of the brain i had made. It is a pun on the fact that it seems we value money more than knowledge. It is themed futuristic to show that it is a problem pertaining to our generation. We are a era of people who expect things instantaneously hoping to use minimal thought.
Brain Advertisement Illustration
During this project I used a picture of a real brain as a template and built on top of it. It was interesting trying to find the whole pieces in the brain to capture, making sure I got a more realistic look of the brains's anatomy. I then added in the divots in between the brain's muscle, and put a gradient affect on all of them according to the color of that section. Then the finished trace was brought into Photoshop where I used bevel and emboss to add texture and a 3D affect to the image.
